General Information

Registration

Registrations for classroom training can be made by either calling our Registrar at (601) 957-4461 or by accessing the online registration link. Click here to Register.

Farm Bureau Tech does not offer courses to the general public. We are a business to business training provider.

Registration reservations should be made as well in advance as possible. We limit the number of students in most classes so individual attention can be provided. This one-on-one instruction is especially important in producing estimates in the Physical Damage and the Property Estimating courses.

Enrollees will be assigned an online pre-study program for all of our classroom courses.

Tuition

Tuition for courses does not include lodging or meals. Established customer companies will be billed for tuition and hotel charges after course completion. We require advanced payment for new customers.

Hotel Arrangements

Farm Bureau Tech will arrange hotel reservations for students at the Towneplace SuitesĀ®, located at 310 Southlake Avenue, Ridgeland, MS 39157. Their local phone number is (601) 898-9880 and their toll-free number is (888) 236-2427.

We recommend students have single rooms. Written confirmation along with directions to the hotel will be sent approximately two weeks prior to the class. Established customer companies will be billed for hotel charges and tuition after course completion.

Grading

Students are graded on daily quizzes, final examination, group workshops and, where applicable, estimates and exercises. An overall passing ratio of 70% is required for each basic course.

Facilities

Farm Bureau Tech is located on the 3rd floor of the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Home Office. The pleasant educational environment and class room arrangement maximizes the learning potential of each student. A comfortable break room is provided for students.

Our facility provides a large variety of building materials and displays to aid students in their understanding of the various types of construction. The large auto shop area houses many damaged vehicles and specialized frame repair equipment to assist our students in preparing accurate estimates.

Dress Code

Student dress should be “business casual” attire. There are exceptions only on days when shop and field trips are scheduled in which students may dress more comfortably.

Blue jeans and tennis shoes may be worn on Fridays. The jeans must be in good condition and fit properly. Jeans with holes and obvious wear are not appropriate. A good rule of thumb is that if you are unsure if your attire is acceptable, choose something else or inquire first.

Weekends

The weekend is free. Tech Staff can provide suggestions for places of worship, restaurants and places of scenic interest.

Emergency Medical Treatment

We have arranged for emergency medical or dental treatment. Tech staff members will arrange for transporting students to and from a place of treatment. All treatments will be at the student’s expense.

Classroom Hours

Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Study time is provided daily.
