Registration Registration can be made by calling our Registrar toll-free at 1-800-272-7977, or in Mississippi call 601-957-4461. Reservations should be made as well in advance as possible. We limit the number of students in most classes so individual attention can be provided. This one-on-one instruction is especially important in producing estimates in the Physical Damage and the Property Estimating courses. An advanced pre-study CD course (will require a computer) will be mailed to students in the Property Estimating and Physical Damage classes. Tuition Tuition for courses does not include lodging, meals and course materials. Your company will be billed for tuition and motel charges after course completion. Motel Arrangements Hotel reservations for students are made at Staybridge Suites, located at 801 Ridgewood Road Grading Students are graded on daily quizzes, final examination, group workshops and, where applicable, estimates and exercises. An overall passing ratio of 70% is required for each basic course. Facilities Southern Farm Bureau Tech is a modern two-story facility. The pleasant educational environment and class room arrangement maximizes the learning potential of each student. Two large break rooms are provided for students. A property estimating house is located within the building to aid students in understanding the various types of construction. The large auto shop area houses many damaged vehicles and specialized frame repair equipment to assist our students. Dress Student dress should be "business casual" attire. There are exceptions only on days when shop and field trips are scheduled in which students may dress more comfortably. Weekends The weekend is free. There is a listing of various churches, their addresses and times of service in the Yellow Pages. Tech will provide a listing of restaurants and places of scenic interest. Emergency Medical Treatment We have arranged for emergency medical or dental treatment. Tech staff members will arrange for transporting students to and from a place of treatment. All treatments will be at the student's expense. Classroom Hours Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Study time is provided daily.
